Fitness Trainer – Alma Limon

My name is Alma Limon. I grew up in Mexico in a loving family. Healthy eating and physical activity was prominent growing up. I ate home cooked meals and was involved in gymnastics growing up.

When I was in my teens, I tried out for softball and track and field but didn’t really stick around. When I went away to college, I gained the famous freshman 15 and then some. I had been working out but nothing consistent and my diet was the one of any college student.

I started drinking and partying too which didn’t help with my weight at all. On my last year of school, I had gone through a bad break up and started partying and drinking a lot, definitely a bad combination.

After a few months of doing that to myself, I got invited by a friend to go workout one morning. Being completely out of breath within the first few minutes, I knew I had to change that and got myself my first gym membership.

At first I didn’t know what to do at the gym let alone what to eat exactly. One of my coworkers had told me he had been certified as a personal trainer and would help me. He started showing me some workout and told that lifting weights would be the way to get the results I wanted.

At first I was hesitant since I had the misconception that lifting would make girls bulky. I trusted my friend in the process so I started with light weight workouts and carrying a cooler around with my food.

I fell in love with the feeling of getting stronger and leaner. To keep me motivated, in 2013 I signed up for a 10K race. I trained for a few months and did it. With work and my now very busy schedule with prepping for races, I started meal prepping my food to have it ready at all times.

In 2014 I signed up to do a half marathon. After that half marathon I decided I was done running and I began bodybuilding. I got NESTA to be more knowledgeable and open a door into helping others the way I was helped once. In 2016, I got the privilege to be a sponsored athlete by Scivation, the best BCAA company out there.

I’m now prepping for my first bikini competition and I can’t wait to crush another goal. I love this lifestyle and I can’t wait to help more people with their goals.
